Pilots
There are 4 Pilot actions in this project and all Pilot action outputs will continue to be financed and maintained after the end of the project. By committing with their Pilot actions, the 4 territorial project partners are integrating the new Cultural Route in the internal strategy and investment planning. They recognize the added value of the project innovative approach for the valorization of the Great Atlantic Expeditions legacy.

Cognac

Sines
The Pilot action in Sines for the Internationalization of the Alentejo Nautical Stations Route is gathering the commitment of a large number of local companies for the internationalization of products and services linked to the great nautical expeditions. The durability of these Pilot outputs should be understood in the frame of the internalization strategy of the cluster of private companies currently managed by Sines Metropol. This Pilot will be probably inspiring for other Atlantic territories both for the internationalization goals and for the synergies of local actors for the set-up of products and services linked to the great nautical expeditions.

Lagos
The pilot action in Lagos will implement the conditions for establishing a permanent exhibition focused on the legacy of the great nautical expeditions. This pilot is integrated into a broader requalification project that is set to become a flagship initiative for cultural heritage in Lagos. As a result, durability is ensured through the synergy between the local development strategy and the transnational Cultural Route strategy.
Huelva
The Pilot action for the province of Huelva will be located in the bridge building, near the Muelle de las Carabelas at La Rábida cultural site. It comprises a new and permanent exhibition showroom set-up as the official settlement of the new CoE Cultural Route headquarters and the highlighting of the role of the onubenses sailors in the Spanish great nautical expeditions. This Pilot will consolidate the current Colombus journeys’ cultural valorization and we expect significant impact in the development strategy of La Rábida cultural site. Other impacts target regional policies for tourism and cultural heritage linked to the legacy of the great nautical exploration to ensure the durability of the Pilot outputs.
