Grand Cognac (France) hosts a working day dedicated to the Routes of the Great Atlantic Expeditions
On Monday 11 May 2026, Grand Cognac hosted a working day dedicated to the European project AGREE – Routes of the Great Atlantic Expedition, bringing together researchers, cultural stakeholders and European partners around the development of a future Atlantic cultural route. This day was led by the two French partners of the AGREE project, the University of Angers and the Grand Cognac agglomeration community.
The programme included a meeting of the French National Scientific Committee, a steering committee meeting and discussion sessions around the research programme intended to support the work of the European Scientific Committee. Discussions also focused on the ambitions of the future cultural route as well as on the pilot action carried out by Grand Cognac.
This meeting brought together representatives from the University of Poitiers, the University of La Rochelle, the University of Angers, as well as several cultural stakeholders and partners involved in promoting Atlantic heritage, maritime history and the know-how linked to Cognac.
The partners discussed the research projects they wish to develop between territorial heritages (University of Angers) and current living memory (Grand Cognac).
